Fully equipped kitchen with washer/dryer, dishwasher, oven, microwave and fridge/freezer, the Lodge is equipped to a high standard throughout. The Lodge is situated 6 miles from the historic market town of Barnard Castle, and is an ideal location for visiting the attractions of beautiful Teesdale, or neighbouring Weardale, we are approximately 40 minutes drive from beautiful Durham City.

Likes: The lodge is well-equipped, clean and big. Our hosts were very friendly and heplful. The farm and the animals are a nice neighbourhood.

The owners, Pat and Yvonne, are the most helpful, accommodating and hospitable people I've ever met. Considering we were apparently unusually knee high in snow for most of the week I had a nice time and this wouldn't have been possible without them. They dug my car out of the snow on too many occasions, took us to get supplies and even gave us supplies, but better than this nothing was any hassle to them. You just go so much value and service for your money here, it's worth double what you pay! Read less
Likes: Everything - the infrared sauna, which helps you lose weight! The jacuzzi bath, the log fire, the big beds, the sunroom, the quietness and seclusion, it's warmth, the Alpaca's and even the turkeys!
Dislikes: Not one thing! It is perfect and will definitely return. So so much character and lots to do, if you're mobile!
