Situated in Weardale, County Durham on a working farm. Three sandstone barn conversions, sleeping from 2 - 13 people. The accommodation is two miles from the village of Wolsingham, 12 miles from Durham City in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking the hills of the North Pennines. Open all year. Available for short or longer breaks. Large groups welcome as we can accommodate up to 23 people.

The location in a very beautiful countryside, away from towns. Easy raods everywherre, quick connections to any interesting places,
Dislikes:
The location was inedequately cleaned, very dark. Nearly no contact with owner. There is no clear sepration between the farm and the house. The location is crowded with as many as 4 rental places.

Greenwell Hill Cottages offer excellent Self Catering accommodation on a farm in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking the hills of the North Pennines. Situated in Weardale County Durham.

The accommodation lies between the villages of Wolsingham and Tow Law. We have three cottages sleeping from 2 -13 guests.

Large groups are welcome as we can accommodate up to 23 people. We are ideal for family holidays, weekend and mid week breaks.

Open All Year Greenwell offers children the chance to see a real farm; to follow our nature trail and feed the chickens.

Nearby Mountain Biking in Hamsterley Forest, Pony Trekking, Trout Fishing, Golf or just good old walking in the Durham Dales.

Within easy reach of many leading attractions like Weardale Railway, Killhope Leadmining Centre, Raby Castle, High Force Waterfall, Durham Cathedral and Castle, Beamish Museum and Durham Cricket Club. Skiing in the Winter at the Weardale Ski Club. Greenwell is the ideal place to stay.

Visitors to Greenwell Hill Cottages will be treated to a 350 acre vista of the beautiful County Durham countryside.

These traditional Weardale farm buildings have been sensitively converted to attractive sandstone cottages, offering a high standard of self catering accommodation which includes gas and oil full central heating, double glazing, television, freeview & DVD, spring water supply and en-suite bathrooms.

Modern kitchen facilities include fridge freezer, microwave and an electric oven. Comfortable and prettily furnished, this farmhouse style accommodation boasts honey pined furniture, fitted carpets, natural pine beams. We are a LEAF demonstration farm, have a farm walk and wildlife ponds.
Environmental Statement
Greenwell farm overlooks the valley of Weardale which is in an “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” on the edge of the North Pennines. Ideally situated for touring the Durham Dales of Weardale and Teesdale. Located 2 miles from the village of Wolsingham. All 3 cottages have been converted from traditional sandstone farm buildings retaining many original features. Water is from our own spring water supply. Greenwell has been a LEAF Farm (Linking Environment and Farming) which promotes environmentally responsible farming. We maintain a small nature reserve that has not been farmed for decades, ponds, hedgerows, field margins and woodland areas to provide shelter and food for native wildlife. Nest boxes for owls and for smaller birds. A nature trail for use only by our guests around the farm. Solar Photovoltaic panels have been fitted to the Stables cottage to generate electricity for use in all cottages and fa
