The room was large and very comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee etc. Can't fault the breakfasts and the evening meal was very well cooked - I had two starters instead of a main just because they sounded so delicious and was not disappointed. My husband had the haddock and chips - what's so special? well the batter was like a tempura batter - very light, the chips were home cooked and not great chunky dry things - really good quality fish. Quiet but just outside Hexham and Corbridge or Haltwhistle, Carlisle. We came for the walking and enjoyed exploring the beautiful countryside and river. Good selection of beers in the bar.

Staff were attentive and friendly. Overall great place to stay when visiting Northumberland. Would stay there again. Read less

The location, the food, the lovely big room with so much storage. Matt the owner was very welcoming and the staff a credit to him.
Dislikes:
Nothing i didn't like but would have welcomed a shower cap for the shower and maybe a box of cosmetic tissues in the room.
