"Perfect Autumnal atmospheric break!"
We had a wonderful stay at the Barley Mow. It was a base for exploring the countryside and climbing up Pendle Hill. We had been inspired to revisit Pendle after reading 'The Familiars' by Stacy Halls. It is a wonderful and well researched story that explores local history and folklore, with empathy and insight and a distinctly feminist perspective. A great read before wandering the paths and walking across the hill. Read less

The Barley Mow is a beautifully furnished country pub, emulating the feel of a 'ski chalet' or 'hunters lodge' inside with its woodwork and stone interior. Each section of the pub is fitted with a log burning fire, offering a warm retreat on a winters day. The pub is broken up into different dining areas each offering a change in ambience. The newly refurbished bar area offers the perfect drinking experience with high rise tables and stools, to enjoy our premium offering of cask ale and selection of fine wines. The pub also has the best to offer on a warm summers day, with its outside bar and seating to enjoy the beautiful environment Barley has to offer. A perfect place to drop anchor after one of many popular walks available around the village. To complete the experience at the Barley Mow, above the pub are six traditional, cosy bedrooms. All designed with detailed stonework, king beds paired with an en-suite bathroom to finish; giving you that home away from home experience.
